Your gonna know his name..Gary Clark Jr

At just 17 years old the Major of his home town, Austin, Texas proclaimed 3 May 2001 to be ‘Gary Clark, Jr Day’.

Standing at 6ft 4 and now 28, this tall drink of water has released an EP of ferocious skill. With soul oozing from every pore, guitar dexterity to challenge Clapton and bursts of distortion, he has reworked the best of the blues.

With metallic string frying solos he recently scorched the dusty sky at Coachella, SXSW and Bonaroo, with tracks such as “Don’t Owe You A Thang” transporting the tents to the troubles with woman in the swampy south.

For fans of The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix, and the blues gods; Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, this whipper snapper promises so many great jams, its sure to get sticky this summer.

  •  Catch him at Hard Rock Calling, Saturday 14 July.
